«Spring is the time of love”
Ведущий:
Ladies and gentlemen, let me congratulate you on the beginning of our English competition “Spring is the time of love”. Three teams are going to take part in this contest. Let’s greet each other! (Clap your hands) Thank you. People can hardly imaging their life without love. A lot of songs, poems and sonnets are devoted to love. And now you’ll listen to a song about love.
I.
Riddles What’s the best season for love? Which holiday is dedicated to love? What’s the symbol of love? What are the names of food we use to call our sweethearts? What’s the most suitable age for love?
II.
Make up a definition “What is love?” How do you understand it? Express it in some words or sentences.
III.
You’re going to guess a chainword puzzle. Find as many words as possible associated with love.
IV.
Now “A song contest”. You’ll have a chance to listen to the song “Fairytale”. I’m sure you know it perfectly well. Your task is to finish the lines with the missing words.
V.
Make up a poem from separate parts.
VI.
Match the colours of roses with their meanings.
VII.
Now we’ll try to express ourselves in pantomime. Act out a scene from “Romeo and Juliet”.
VIII.
Do you know proverbs about love? I’m sure you do. You’re going to fill in the missing words.

You’ll see the names of the films, famous all over the world.
