Преподаватель приветствует студентов, беседует с ними и определяет цель занятия. Good morning! How are you today? How are you doing? How are you getting on? How are things with you? (На доску помещаются фотографии Николаевска-на-Амуре). Look at the pictures on the board and tell me the theme of our lesson. Today at the lesson we shall work at vocabulary, grammar, text, dialogue and retelling. I’ll give you cards and you should put the order in which to your opinion we will study the material. Студенты приветствуют преподавателя и отвечают на вопросы. I’m fine/ OK/not too bad/ not very well/ so-so. Студенты определяют тему занятия: Nikolaevsk-on-Amur. Nikolaevsk-on-Amur
My native and hometown is Nikolaevsk-on- Amur. It is a small provincial town. About 20 thousand people live in it. Nikolaevsk is located in the Far East and stands on the river Amur. Nikolaevsk has a rich history. The town was founded as a military post by 1) Студенты читают и переводят текст.
Nevelskoi in 1850. The post grew into a village and later into a town. The town was named after St. Nikolai – Nikolaevsk. For a long time Nikolaevsk was the main Russian town in the Far East. In 1920 our town was burnt to ashes by partisans during the Civil War. People began to rebuild the town after the war. In the middle of the 20 th century Nikolaevsk was an important industrial center. But now many enterprises are closed. Only a seaport, river-port, airport, heat power station and bread-baking factory are still working in the town. Many people leave our town because it is difficult to find a good job here and give children good education. There are no institutes in the town. There are 5 secondary schools, a music school, a medical college, a pedagogical college and a ship-building technical college in the town. Also we have a cinema, 2 libraries, a club, a youth center, 2 parks, a swimming-pool, skiing- center and a local museum in our town. In the museum you can learn about the history of Nikolaevsk and about the nature of our region. In the streets and parks of the town you can see monuments built in honour of the founders of Nikolaevsk and the heroes of the Civil War and Great Patriotic War. Some years ago a beautiful church was built in the center of the town. I like my town and want it to become nicer and better with every passing year. 2) Read the sentences with the information new for you. 3) Find in the text sentences expressing the same things: 1.
